Spitsbergen (Svalbard)

Ski touring and mountaineering on the Lomonosovfonna icecap and ascents of Svalbard's two highest mountains; Perriertoppen (1717m) and Newtontoppen (also 1717m).

Following on from our 2001 sucess on Newtontoppen we will at last be returning to Svalbard and to the highest peaks of Spitsbergen, this time travelling into the heart of the ranges by skidoo to allow greater time to be spent ski touring, climbing and exploring these remote ranges. This year our primary objective will be the second highest peak, Perriertoppen (1717m), which is much more rarely ascended than Newtontoppen (also 1717m) due to its more remote location and complex glacier systems. Following the ascent of Perriertoppen we will hopefully make one or two further ascents, including Newtontoppen.

Flights via Oslo and Tromsø.

All dates are approximate and can be changed slightly to best suit the group. Please enquire.
All expeditions (except dog sledding) involve camping in snow conditions for the duration.
