Pulk sledges are available in two sizes: standard (1.2m) and expedition (1.6m). Pulk hire charges include a twin bar hauling system and choice of three types of full harness.

Ski hire charges include expedition suitable metal edge nordic or alpine touring skis, Rottafella 3-pin or cable bindings (Nordic) or Fritschi/Silvretta 500 (alpine touring) bindings, Black Diamond expedition telescopic or Swix Mountain touring poles, skins, and waxing kits (if required). Nordic touring skis are available in both waxable or waxless versions.

Prices do not include boots. We do have a limited selection available, otherwise we will recommend a suitable source for hire.

For those using a rigid sole mountaineering boot, which takes a step in crampon, these boots will fit the Silvretta 500 alpine touring binding fitted to our alpine touring skis. In which case you will not require boot hire. Clients must accept, however, that there will be a decline in performance because mountaineering boots do not offer the same degree of support or control of a dedicated alpine touring boot.

Prices do not include V.A.T. Please add 17.5% V.A.T. for normal hire in the UK and Europe. If hired as part of an all inclusive package to Greenland then the hire charges are not subject to V.A.T. since expeditions to Greenland are exempt from V.A.T.

Other safety equipment is also available to hire upon request: eg
North Face Tents, 406Mhz Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB's), VHF airband radios, GPS, altimeters, red rocket flares, hand held orange hand smoke flares, mini flares, snow shovels, avalanche probes, rifles, satelite telephone and solar rechargers.

Our rates only apply to the periods in which you actually arrive and depart from your expedition area. For larger orders and hire periods in excess of 3 weeks we would negotiate special rates. Clients will be responsible for the collection from, and safe return to, Tangent Expeditions and all associated Postage, Packing and Handling Fees.

TANGENT EXPEDITIONS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHARGE AT COST PRICE PLUS 50% ADMINISTRATION FEE FOR ANY REPAIRS AND/OR REPLACEMENTS NECCESSARY RESULTING FROM THE USE AND/OR MISUSE OF ANY OF THE ABOVE ITEMS WHILST ON HIRE.
